Bondage parties

- Last evening some friends of ours invited us to a "party". It turned out to be a club entirely devoted to bondage, discipline and other dominant/submissive behaviour. I could not help but notice that almost all the women wore stockings. I would guess there must have been 25 women there and maybe two were not in stockings. Those two were bare-legged. There was not a single pair of pantyhose in sight. That was truly stockings heaven!

I asked our host and hostess if wearing stockings was required. No, it was not. So, why so many women in stockings? Why not was the reply. That was good enough for me.

So, my question for the group is this: have you ever engaged in bondage and/or dominant/submissive behaviour and, if so, were most of the women (or your partner if you were not in a group) wearing stockings?

If the answer is "yes" why do you think there is this connection?

I'm not complaining, just curious.

I understand from our host and hostess that such clubs are all over the US though quite discrete. Are they all over the UK also?

- Yes, I had an English girlfriend here in the US. Susan was her name. Anyway, she liked light bondage. She would use her old stockings as restraints and definitely would wear stockings and a basque. We would take turns tying each other up.

Whilst there definitely is a link between bondage and stockings, please note that not always are the restraints stockings. I've heard stories where the restraints are ties, belts, ropes and handcuffs.

- Nice, if you get the opportunity... although no-one has ever invited me to a bondage party! I'm not sure that my wife would go along with it anyway. It's great that they were all wearing stockings although, in the context of other discussion here in this forum... about getting more women to wear stockings... this would not go down as a good reason to wear them! It'd be great if all women wore stockings then we would all be in stocking heaven! But I doubt all women would go to bondage parties!

- I'm sure it was delightful seeing so many women in stockings. But your post may highlight a problem I have with this type of association with stockings. Sure, it seems women may wear stockings when there is this type of sexual activity. But I wonder how many of these women wear stockings - or hosiery generally - in their daily lives. Wearing hosiery for sexual purposes only highlights one of the problems with getting women to return to stockings - the sexual, tarty or whorish associations they have with these garments.

- I can only echo those comments. While I see nothing particularly bad about bondage, I am not particularly happy that the wearing of nice lingerie could be come linked with any particular sexual fetish. It only serves to portray stockings, suspenders, girdles, corsets, basques and the like as being something bad, something abnormal, something to be ashamed of, whereas they are something truly feminine and tastefully sexy rather than the whorish or tarty image they have recently gained.
