Sightings galore(Edited from contributions to the Stockings HQ discussion forum) - I went to London today for a meeting and it finished by 3pm so I went up to Oxford Street to look for some pretty girls. I decided to walk along to the big stores (John Lewis etc) because they are always happy hunting grounds for slightly older ladies who like to dress well. On the way a couple coming towards me caught my eye - she was about 5'3'' mid 40s and he was mid 50s - probably husband and wife I thought. What caught my eye was her very pretty and feminine pink two piece suit, with black tights and high heel court shoes (3 inch). It was probably the shoes I noticed first I suppose. She was fairly pretty with neck length black hair brushed over her ears. I turned to follow the pair and was I glad I did. She was obviously an expensive lady because she had a Gucci handbag and was carrying her expensive looking sun glasses. Her suit probably cost more than mine, but it was thin material and came about 3 inches above her knee with a small v split at the back. And yes, in the split, I could see what I thought was the darker band of hold ups. It was only when I studied her legs, thighs and bottom, I realised that as her skirt tightened with each step I could see her suspender straps and the lace top of her stockings highlighted through the material. Her suspender straps were quite wide (say 3/4 of an inch) and looked to be lacy too. - I had seven sightings today at the Epsom Derby. In all cases I saw either the stocking top or thigh above it. I thought a breakdown of estimated ages and style might be of interest. 1. 20s / 30s flesh hold-ups - In a music store last week, I saw a Chinese girl in her early 20s wearing stockings. Although I didn't see her sitting down or crossed legs, I did definitely see the stocking tops though her short white dress. - Well, as luck would have it, for the last two days I've gone to a different place for lunch by the office and hit the jackpot (well, at least as far as I'm concerned). I'm not sure whether its the food, (upscale sandwiches and soups, delicious pastries) or the location but in two days, I've seen over 10 women wearing sharp/business attire and great hose! One woman yesterday had on a very sharp dark grey suit with a double slit skirt and seamed stockings (could be pantyhose/stay-ups, can't be sure) but there was no mistaking the seams! The woman seated alone at the next table was wearing smoke hose with a reinforced toe, which I spied by her getting comfortable and slipping her shoes off. Today there was an attractive redhead wearing a black suit with a very tight, short skirt with daysheer black hose, a tall brunette with a tan skirt with long (coatdress type) blazer and off-white, very sheer and shiny hose (probably pantyhose) with really nice squared heel pumps. But the one that blew me away today was a blond woman, with a white sleeveless sweater (taut enough to be attention-getting) a short, form-fitting skirt (two slits) in a nubbly, shiny material with pearlescent material woven through it, white stockings (no garter clips that I could tell but I did see a welt so I know they were stockings) and beautiful 3 inch heeled Peau de Soie pumps with pearlescent highlights! The stockings were just sheer enough to show leg but were of a slightly higher denier to show fully white and had an excellent sheen. Of course, the legs they were covered were also very shapely! - I quite often have to use the Eurostar passenger rail service to Paris and take the opportunity to travel first class. The stewardesses are splendid in their navy blue and yellow Pierre Balmain uniforms and matching sheer tanned hosiery (regulation, hurrah!). They have to travel up and down the train serving drinks from their trollies. Now the good point here is that these are complimentary and they have to bend down constantly to get them, break the seals of the bottles and pour, as well as give passengers meals. My observations whilst having this experience that the French and Belgian girls 80% of the time wear hold-ups or stockings, whilst the UK girls are 75% tights and 25% stockings or hold-ups. Come on Eurostar, get the English girls into shape and join our continental cousins! Give them more encouragement and tell them the beneficial effects of wearing stockings whilst working shifts (three return trips a day)! - I had two sightings at the Chelsea Flower Show. The first was a woman in her 30s or 40s with brown hair. She was wearing a straw hat, a lemon jacket, and a grey dress. She was sitting on a low platform with her knees up. I could see her left thigh above her flesh coloured stocking through a slit in the side of her dress. The second was a woman in her 50s with grey hair. She was wearing glasses and a light fawn pinstripe suit. She was sitting cross-legged on a chair and I could see her right thigh above her dark grey stockings. I also saw a pair of tan coloured fully fashioned stockings. Unfortunately they were hanging on a washing line, along with an open bottomed girdle, in one of the show gardens! - I was at Perimeter Mall (outside Atlanta) yesterday for lunch. As I was walking off my sandwich before heading back to the usual drudgery of work, I noticed a very attractive and fashionable woman moving along. She was about 5' 5" tall with dark black hair and very smartly attired in a business suit (jacket and short shirt, about three inches above the knee) in a black/white houndstooth pattern. She looked like a younger Courtney Cox/Al Sheedy composite. Anyway, as she was wearing a short skirt, she had my attention. She was wearing daysheer black hose with a three-four inch heel (not quite a pump but not quite one of the chunky club shoe monsters either) and while taking a step up onto the escalator I caught a glimpse of lace stocking top! Be still my heart! I couldn't believe it. No garters but stay-up (hold-up) lace topped stockings! I was actually on my way back to my car and was going that way so I fell into pace behind her, thanking my lucky stars, when she slipped on something on the floor or a loose tile, whatever, and tripped, stepping out of one of her shoes to reveal a reinforced heel and toe! I quickly stepped over to her and held her arm, asking if she was okay. I then reached back and picked up her shoe. She walked over to a nearby bench and I handed her shoe back and asked again if she was okay. She was fine and thanked me for the help. I made small talk and finally just came out and mentioned that I liked her hose and then held my breath. Instead of a look or something, she just thanked me for noticing. I must have had a strange face on because she just looked at me. So I asked if she could tell me where she got them as I would like to get some for my wife. She gave me the store name and suggested I do it right away as my wife would love them... "there's nothing sexier"- her words. She even went so far as to let me know that they were not pantyhose but stockings and moved the slit in her skirt to the side of her leg and showed me the lace top (although not enough to see the top of her thigh!) I thanked her again and she even mentioned that she comes to the mall for lunch too and to say "hello" next time I see her. - I had my first sighting in over a year today on a train to Paddington. A very attractive and elegant girl sat across from me and eventually displayed very pale beige lacy topped hold ups for the rest of the journey. I'm sure she knew they were showing but didn't seem to mind - if she didn't know - poor thing - how embarrassing It made the rest of the day so much brighter! |
