| Solve this riddle. Who Am I? |

Even writing this makes my skin crawl with embarrassment.
SHQ has been fun, but I am hooked in just three weeks. There is too much undone in my life and I have to move on. April 30 is my shut-down date.
Before I go, I seek your help to win a bet with my wife. She believes the droppings I've left in my five careers make me known to many people on the street. I don't agree.
If she wins, I must perform a personal service related to my career, and donate my mad money for six months to her charity.
If I win, she wears FF stockings to my charity events for the next year.
She says that if she provides you 5 hints to what I've done in my work lives, that you can call me out. I say that I've stayed under the radar screen.
1. My SHQ name reveals one of the jobs for which I am known.
2. Fame came first when I mauled Joe Namath and Terry Bradshaw.
3. Fame came again when Ronnie brought a stranger in my house.
4. Fame came a third time when I stood on Faith.
5. My acts landed me in two Halls of Fame.
What's my name?

You've won with me as I haven't the slightest idea who you are! Sorry.
OTOH, I rarely watch TV and rarely read the tabloids.

Hey!... this looks like fun! I’ll be one of your Huckleberries. Now, I’m off to do some research.

Btw... I don't think that you should 'shut-down' , until you've given us a fair chance, time-wise, to make some guesses! Say, at least a couple of weeks.

Look Prince Edward, nobody is falling for this any more. You'll never be popular or famous so give it up for pity's sake.

Jac, I hang around until 4/30. Nobody ever called me what you called me in another thread. Hint - I've been called cat names.
My age may make it harder to detect me - my weekly TV time was 30+ years ago. However, my radio and stage time are current.

Sally-Anne sent a PM. She proved my wife correct.
I've lost the bet to my wife, but I'm staying under the covers. I hope Sally-Anne won't out me in public.
Before I leave, can anyone tell me the origin of "doo dah"?

"It was suggested that the term might first have been used by the late poet-guru," Schruben said. "But 'Doo-Dah' does not appear in his meandering poem, 'Wichita Vortex Sutra.' " On the other hand, Schruben's investigations uncovered only indirect links between the Wichita 'Doo-Dah' and a pair of popular songs --- Johnny Mercer's 1946 title, "Zip-Iddy-Doo-Dah," and Stephen Foster's 1850 tune, "Camptown Races."
"Apparently, the term doo-dah was first used in America in connection with the 'Camptown Races,' " said Schruben, who lives in Canoga Park, Calif. "Then and later, doo-dah meant 'a good time' or 'giddiness,' as a core of meanings. The 'doo' part forms such playful words as 'doo-hickey' and even 'doofus,' which means a foolish or inept person."
The current edition of "The Slang Thesaurus" variously defines doo- dah as a doo-hickey, gizmo, doodad, whatchamacallit, whatnot, whatsit or a you-know-what.

If you don't really want to be outed in public why go through all this.
My guess is you will want to tell the whole world anyway

SHQ's well-thought strategy that allows PM's have saved me from being outed. I'd prefer to stay private, although I wasn't aware that was possible when I posted..
Sally Anne, melmoth, and Mike in SF have ID'd me in PM's. My bet with my wife is one of those high-stakes things husbands and wives sometimes do.
I've enjoyed my careers immensely - I own NO lust for fame and stardom. I'd like to stay private, and SHQ's technology has allowed that - along with gracious consideration from Sally Anne, melmoth and Mike in SF.
Winning the admiration of my peers in music, football, and on Broadway appeals to me. Getting my mug plastered on TV doesn't turn me on, although two careers put me on the tube as a performer. In football, I wore a headgear that covered my face. When I performed music, a beard provided me stage cover.
My payoff to my wife is to organize and promote a charity concert for her personal charity. I also have to fork over some royalties. She agreed to my side if I won. She's wearing seams to the concert. If you'll fork over $100 for a pair of tickets to see a few known Nashville stars perform in December, I'll let you out me.

Although my answer was correct, I was able to answer due to wikipedia and the general internet, as well as following the clues. Unfortunately, I was unfamiliar with this name before today. There are too many great talents whose works are known, but their names aren't familiar. I don't think the wife will win the bet.
That said, I did see Burt Bacharach perform in concert in 2000 or so, and even though he doesn't have the best singing voice, he was smart enough to employ 3 vocalists for the concert. He sang only a few of his hits (including Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head) at the show, and was quite chatty. It was such a privilege to see that concert, and to see the songwriter being a part of performance of his songs.

Okay... whatever the hell that's supposed to mean??? I was just joking when I said ‘this looks like fun’ and that I’d give it a go. Not only do I not have the time to do any research into who you may or may not be... I actually haven’t given it another moments thought, since I typed that.
Stephen, your drollery and waggishness quite simply doesn’t interest me in the least. Nor does your pitifully fulsome and unctuous penchant for self-centration and self-biography, as you perpetually proclaim your own virtues with your never-ending and incessant braggadocio, (ie- what you’ve accomplished; what you’ve done; where you’ve been; businesses you’ve run; who you’ve known; what you own; who you've met; who you know; how you've volunteered; charitable work you've done... blah-blah-blah-blah... ad nauseam. ).
Moreover, Stephen, if I may paraphrase a few of the infamous words of Rhett Butler, another well known good ol’ Georgia man, who also liked to push his chest out, and who, if I'm not mistaken, also liked to attend charity balls, albeit with a somewhat scandalous reputation for creating social outrage… quite frankly, “I don’t give a damn!”.

Great videos - I really loved the Keep on Walkin' because of the football scenes interspersed.
Being an American, I've always loved football. It's by far one of the most interesting sports because of the brilliant scoring system. In which other sports can a team be down 10 points with 3 minutes to go, but still find a way to win and not just tie (with a touchdown w/ 2point conversion and after a successful onside kick, a field goal)...
I know that most people outside the US think of football as another sport (which is also a joy to see), and of course few people outside the US have even an inkling of a clue about football as we Americans know it. This may be one of the true divides; it's a sport that's super-isolated within the US and Canada.
Maybe thanks to the short seasons (16-19 games per season tops) and ever-stressful moments, football remains a fave for me; plus it's one of the few (only??) professional sports that recruits from universities - it's almost impossible to become a professional without at least attending university for a few years. The main drawback is knowing that a lot of the players will suffer badly from injuries, especially as they get older. Being from San Francisco, I was always a Joe Montana fan, and it's definitely a shame to read about how hard it is for him to move now despite being only in his 50s.
Hey, is that John Candy over there?
