Christian Louboutin Shoes - Red Sole Fri, 09 May 2008 20:41 Go to next message
MikeMC
My wife has decided she wants a pair of the red sole high heel Louboutin shoes - essential wear with black seams and a pencil skirt - says Victoria Beckhams book, and I agree. Nod

So I have promised next time we go shopping I will get her a pair. As they are not a bargain basement brand, we have only seen Selfidges (and Harvey Niks I think) who stock them.

Are there any other chains who stock them? Or online shops? (Google suggests not) I am happy to snoop around if it saves £100 for example, but this brand never seems to be in any sale or mark down.

Anyone who is familiar with the retail outlets for this brand please holler.

I would personally suggest trying Ebay or net a porter (google it!) or possibly even Asos, expect to pay a ruddy fortune for them.

I'd rather have a pair of damn good copies from Japan (again use google) and a load of new stockings to match!

CL quite often have a sale in their own store - just Google it as everyone says. There are many shoes with the red sole such as L.K. Bennett, Strutt Couture, but none of these cheap. Harrods have a few different makes as well as having heard from a friend in Yorkshire that even Asda now sell a red sole shoe. It was not going to remain exclusive for long.

This is correct, Mrs Flipty has several pairs of their shoes for work, all of which have a red sole, one pair for example is a black leather peeptoe with a 4" heel. The shoes are actually of decent quality and comfort as she wears them for 8 or 10 hours at a time for work with no complaints at all.

Hi MikeMC.

Suggest it could be worth checking faith.co.uk.

Good luck with your search

Try these.

The first link is from Browns in South Molton St, London.
The second is an online firm.

Louboutin's shoes are VERY expensive. They come in the highly desirable, investment shoe brand category of shoe. Personally, I wouldn't buy them because they're too high and way too expensive and if I was going to pay that kind of money, I'd buy a pair of shoes from a French designer who designed the ones Catherine Deunvre wore in Belle De Jour, about the same price.

Of course, you could always try Ebay or Russell and Bromleys for a similar type of shoe but not the CL brand.

See thats a guy who makes his lady happy! Nod

I checked faith - they dont stock them - I am going to check Mich's links now.

I dont see her in Asda shoes or Japanese copies somewhow, (no offence to those who like them)

I dont mind the three or four hundred quid they cost, its a lot yes of course, but it doesnt kill me if its not every day. (Which it isnt of course - this is a special buy) But if I can make a saving I will.

I have always been an advocate of the theory that if you want your lady to look good, it isnt cheap, but the end result is worth it.

A word of warning with Christian Louboutin's shoes. They are Italian made and can be VERY narrow, as I've often found having bought a fair amount of Italian made shoes over the years and discovered that they are fine UNTIL your feet start to become wider.

If you are simply looking for high heels, then try Gina Couture - a bit cheaper AND a designer brand.

Have a look on Ebay as well! Lots of CLs around.

For the price of a pair of Louboutins you could surely have a pair of shoes made to measure elsewhere?

Stiletto Couple
Hi MikeMC

Mrs Stiletto has a few pairs of these beautiful shoes. They come in heels up to 5 inch and due to workmanship she can wear these on a night out without feet "killing"!!

They are expensive but but you pay for what you get, admittedly he is "The" shoe designer so you do pay a premium.

Tty this site www.net-a-porter.com/Shop/Designers/Christian_Louboutin

But if you lady is anything like mine and we are buying shoes this expensive she wants to go to the shop and experience the full "experience"!!!

Harrods has a good selection so does Harvey Nicholls.

Hope we were of some help.

Hi MikeMC,

I have to agree with SC that I do like to fit on shoes before buying them and also as Mich says that they are a bit on the narrow side. However for wear ability they sure are tops, although I must say Strutt Couture are absolutely lovely to wear for hours on end as well, and every bit as exclusive as CL.

Their new shop is in Mount Street, Mayfair and this is their phone number 020 7245 6510, I am sure they will be able to tell you who stocks their shoes other than the stores mentioned.

I also have the following link which sells older stock and rare pairs of their shoes by auction, I have replaced a pair from here and the shoes were brand new and perfect, I did manage to get them quite a few pound cheaper than I paid first time round. http://www.weloveclothes.co.uk/search/f/louboutin/6-24040731 02/

Hope this helps Smile

Thankyou for the input all, it was that particular brand she wanted to try - I agree at this money she needs to try them so it looks like we are paying retail.

A friend of mine has said you should never buy a pair of Louboutins online until you have tried a pair on and found your "Louboutin size". The sizes can be a bit different as mentioned above.

Get down to London, a number of store stock them and of course the Louboutin shop it's self.

I agree. If you are paying the kind of prices that these very much sought after shoes (particularly among celebrities) command, then try them on. Your wife may find she needs a bigger size, especially if she has wide feet.

No point buying uncomfortable shoes.
