Hi Eckie

it's "bas" for stockings
it's "bas nylon" for nylon stockings
it's "bas voile" for sheer stockings
it's "bas couture" for seamed stockings

In fact, the right term for seamed stockings would be "bas à couture"... "Bas couture" is just for short...
But unfortunately, very few french women wear seamed stockings nowadays...

You are so right about women (in general) rarely wearing seams daily. However, patience is a virtue and in the end rewarded!

Monday, 11 Dec, Palais de Congres de Paris (near Port Maillot), 8:10am...

Lovely lady in her early 40's perhaps, blonde, black fur short coat, black pumps and perfectly straight seams! Perhaps staying at the Meridien Etoile Hotel across the street, but I'm hoping she works at the Palais, increasing the chance of a second sighting. If she is here, merci beaucoup!

What is the feeling; if one were to observe, approach and discretely compliment?
