I was in a long relationship, in which I was engaged. It's maybe because of our age (18 and 20) but we had loads of sex. Let's be realistic though, at the time we were still both in school (GCSE's & A-levels) and then had 3 months + off for summer before work & college started. We had plenty of time to have loads of sex.

Mike you ask the strangest questions!
People have different sex drives, needs, wants and desires. There is absolutely no point in comparing yourself or your relationship to anyone else.
You have to find your own compromise and work with that, other peoples sex lives, although sometimes interesting, won't help you solve your problem.

Thanks Tabi - I am not actually trying to compare myself in that sense. But I am curious about this stuff, and having an idea of what it's like for other couples is helpful for me. I already know that I can't push her to do something more, but I can push myself to lessen my own desire. Sex is just one facet of our relationship and I am not going to let a difference like this affect the rest of our relationship.
I needed a reality check on this, as well. I used to think that couples living together had sex every night. I know it's ridiculous but yes, I really did think this way. And because I went through a long dry spell, I never thought to ask other friends about frequency because I was afraid that I'd get too jealous! Fortunately I'm better sorted over this now 
And big ta to those of you who voted in the poll - I do appreciate this info.

Hi Mike:
Being divorced, sometimes it is FEAST or FAMINE in the sex department
But I do recall when my ex-wife turned 30, sometimes it was 5 times a day. I think she felt that she had to make up for what she might not get in old age. I never minded however....
Again, the dating scene is different. Some weeks might be 5 or 6, some might be one or none. I am not much into "Dating", but do have a couple of close friends..
But, from what I have seen with my married friends... 3 times a week would be a lot.

James, yes, it was early in the AM, after breakfast, meet at lunch, after work and in the late PM... HEAVEN This lasted a year or a year and a half... Then back to 5 or 6 times a week.
Daffs...We just talked about Gentlemen... But, believe me...You'd get offers every day from me. You're such a sweetie..

Well there was one picture of you in the Red and White Skirt that did add about 20 years compared to the other pictures

Ha ha Dirk - that reminds me of the converse reply... an old Married with Children episode with Vanna White (American game show star from Wheel of Fortune), where Bud feels her leg and talks about how silky her stockings are, and Vanna responds, "I'm not wearing stockings" so everyone ooohs.
Thanks again to those of you who answered the poll and/or posted; honestly this information is helpful for me.
I agree that single life can be feast or famine with sex, or just having a date! I remember one period of going a month without a date. Then again I remember coming back from Germany one Friday night, and answering an online advert the following morning and meeting some woman that afternoon. Timing and all that...
